The goal of this project was to edit down a two minute forty-two seconds video that talks about the College of Engineering to less than a minute.
Behind the Scenes
I was tasked to edit down the “We are UGA Engineering” video by the Director of Communications at the College of Engineering. Upon receiving the work, the directions were to have the video be less than a minute to serve as a promo for an event they had. The Director wanted to keep the core message of the video but also wanted to make sure the edits were not noticeable. After watching the original video about ten times, I was able to determine the parts I would keep and the parts I would cut. One of the challenges I had with this video is that I did not have the original file to edit and thus no access to the music used. However, I was able to be meticulous in how I cut the footage so that the music was not as noticeable where I cut it. Overall, the core of the message was depicted in the promo, but to view the original, check it out below!
